Web Link Request Examples
The focus of the first e-mail is not obviously to ask me to link a page of mine to their site. Instead, it's information about why are linking to me, implying that my site has met some kind of high standard. And flattery will get you very far online... It also notes EXACTLY which page they are linking to, and which page they would like to have a link from.
Our goal is to be brief but informative, entertaining but useful, both accessible and convenient. As you well know, there is both great stuff and awful stuff on the web about dogs; we try to sort the wheat from the chaff for our readers. We save people's time.
Your hit rate will likely increase over the next week or two--the referral in The Straight Poop may well be why. Please feel free to link back to us at http://www.straight-poop.com. A button is available at http://www.straight-poop.com/images/straight-poop.gif.
You may find it interesting to look at our previous issues at http://www.straight/poop.com/. So you may see whom we select to be in your fine company as the weeks progress, you may wish to subscribe at http://www.straight-poop.com/subscribe.html.
Wishing you a warm puppy in your day.
Best, Frank.

My name is Holly Henry-Pilkington, and I am the About.com guide to Focus on PC Support:
I wanted to let you know that I have linked to your article, "Keep Your Computer Humming." Thanks for putting such a useful site on the web! I would really appreciate it if you could give me a heads up if you move or change link locations, or if you post any new material that you think my readers would be interested in.
Meanwhile, if you'd like to post a reciprocal link (not required but always appreciated!), you can find suitable graphics at the following URL:
