essays

My grandfather said I should write a book while I lived abroad. My mother said I should keep a journal. One of my friends said I should write for a travel magazine. This web site is my compromise for all these suggestions -- selected essays / blogs about my adventures in Germany and places I visited while I lived there. If you live abroad, I encourage you to do the same.

I also have my old tourist information for people visiting my area of Germany still up, but please note it has not been updated since 2009.

I still have my info from 2009 on Germany and Europe information that I found helpful as an expat, and anyone coming to visit, but this is woefully outdated. I don't update this anymore, and won't until I move back to Germany eventually.

The Local de has information on moving to Germany. Do NOT write me and ask how to move to Germany! Do NOT write me and ask how to immigrate to Germany. Do NOT write me and ask how to get refugee status in Germany. The official German government web site has answers to all of these questions, in English.

I have NO information AT ALL regarding employment in Germany! None. I have NO information AT ALL on getting a work visa in Germany. I have no information about studying in Germany Please don't write me for advice on employment in Germany or how to get a visa to live there. Please. I beg you. Go here for OFFICIAL information from the German government on working in Germany!

travel advice

I'm no longer in Europe, but I'm still an avid traveler, and maintain travel advice pages. If you are traveling to Germany, or you just moved to Germany, and you want to see how beautiful it is, have a look.

Comments are welcomed, and motivate me to keep writing -- without comments, I start to think I'm talking to cyberair. I would welcome your support for my work as well.
