I haven&#8217;t been there since 2005!<\/p>\n<p>I will be there in early April 2014, to do a presentation on April 8. \u00a0<strong>I would like to schedule trainings and meetings before and after that day in the Washington, D.C. metro area and\/or in the Philly area. <\/strong>It&#8217;s important to get bookings as soon as possible, before I book my flights!<\/p>\n<p>My presentations are\u00a0lively and audience-oriented, and are focused giving participants resources that they can use immediately and a base on which to further build and improve long after the workshop is over. Workshop topics include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>various practices and trends in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coyotecommunications.com\/volunteer\/index.html\">volunteerism, volunteer management and community engagement<\/a>, including\n<ul>\n<li>trends in volunteer engagement and volunteer management (and how to exploit these trends)<\/li>\n<li>inspiring and supporting\u00a0<i>all<\/i>\u00a0staff regarding the involvement of volunteers<\/li>\n<li>increasing the value of the coordinator \/ manager of volunteers role within an organization<\/li>\n<li>online volunteering\/virtual volunteering, including\u00a0screening and orienting volunteers online and risk management<\/li>\n<li>recruiting volunteers, from specific demographics and in general<\/li>\n<li>creating\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coyotecommunications.com\/culture\/list.shtml\">online communities and networks for volunteers<\/a><\/li>\n<li>using real-time communications (video conferencing, online phone calls, chats and instant messaging),\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coyotecommunications.com\/outreach\/podcasts.html\">audio<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coyotecommunications.com\/volunteer\/video.html\">video<\/a>\u00a0with volunteers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coyotecommunications.com\/tips2.html\">traditional and online communications<\/a>, including:\n<ul>\n<li>building press relations \/ pitching stories successfully<\/li>\n<li>writing for the press<\/li>\n<li>networking and outreach to build credibility and support for a program or organization<\/li>\n<li>basic public relations functions<\/li>\n<li>outreach to particular audiences<\/li>\n<li>strategic communications (systematic planning and utilization of a variety of information flows to deliver a message and build credibility or a brand)<\/li>\n<li>writing worthwhile, compelling, appropriate reports for partner organizations and donors<\/li>\n<li>crisis communications, how to address\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coyotecommunications.com\/development\/folklorerecs.html\">misinformation\/misunderstandings<\/a>, addressing online criticism, etc.<\/li>\n<li>taking photos in the developing world, for non-photographers<\/li>\n<li>proposal writing<\/li>\n<li>outreach via the Internet<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coyotecommunications.com\/culture\/index.shtml\">online culture and communities<\/a><\/li>\n<li>evaluating online activities<\/li>\n<li>creating blogs and podcasts for nonprofit organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community groups, government agencies, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To talk about possible dates and my training fees, <a href=\"mailto:jc@coyotecommunications.com\">please contact me via email<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m also available to meet, face-to-face, for informational meetings, collaboration ideas, etc.\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jc@coyotecommunications.com\">Please contact me via email<\/a>\u00a0to set up a meeting in April 2014!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At long last, I will be in the Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area!
