It takes place in the comments section of the blog and on Twitter using the tag <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ttvolmgrs?src=hash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#ttvolmgrs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Two weeks ago, the subject was diversity. <a href=\"http:\/\/ivo.org\/thoughtful-thursdays-from-vmmovement\/topic\/thoughtful-thursday-its-diversity-5581ccb0e18f990919bfb3a4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The comments section on the blog<\/a> are a perfect example of how these much-needed conversations in the nonprofit sector frequently turn into:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">We don&#8217;t need this.<br \/>\nWe are doing just fine with the volunteers we have.<br \/>\nOur recruitment has worked for 25 years. No need to change.<br \/>\nWe are not going to lower our standards in order to get new volunteers.<br \/>\nYoung volunteers just don\u2019t have the commitment that are current volunteers have.<\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s what frustrates me most about managers of volunteers. Most &#8211; yes, I said MOST &#8211; are resistant to change.
