5. Overall Resources
There is a list of Geographic Information Case Studies, compiled by the Association for Geographic Information, based in Great Britain. These case studies, all focused on projects that used Geographic Information Systems (GIS), cover agriculture, e-commerce, education, environment, forestry, health, local government, mapping, transport, water and more. All case studies are focused on communities in Great Britain, but provide excellent examples of using GIS and handheld technologies in field work, often by volunteers. This site also includes a list of GIS online resources provided by various organizations.
